Customer Types
What is customer types used for and why is it important to implement?
To setup a new customer type, it’s fairly simple:
Go to sales then customers, and click “Customer types”
Click “New Customer Type”
When creating a customer, there are a few reasons why its important to categorize your customers such as:
Data reporting and requests
Management will inquire at some point how many types of customers your business has such as whether they are retail, dealer, wholesaler, etc.
Marketing purposes
Customers could be classified as obtained through direct phone calls, through social media or through your website directly
Sales tracking
Customers could be categorized based on salesperson to track commissions
Price rules
Specific customer level discounts can be applied based on the customer type
